Our EAP Curriculum:
• Is developed from Australian Curriculum objectives (ACARA).
• Is shaped by learning area contexts and subjects, concepts, school values and ACARA capabilities.
Our EAP graduates from AIS receive a comprehensive report at the end of their course, together with a formal Certificate of Attainment.
AIS provides a primary school ready program that focuses on Intensive English development for students aged 5 to 11 years, taught by an experienced primary teacher with an understanding of the diverse needs of young children transitioning into mainstream schooling. Students are involved in a range of carefully crafted learning experiences, designed to provide scaffolding to learn the English language that will build their confidence and promote engagement in their learning. Small classes allow for personalised learning which aims to meet the needs of each individual.

Our EAP Curriculum:

Secondary age students are levelled and assigned to an appropriate class. All students enrol in 4.5 hours of study for each of the following subjects:
• English for Academic Purposes – English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D)
• English for Academic Purposes – Humanities
• English for Academic Purposes – Mathematics
• English for Academic Purposes – Science
• SACE Stage 1 Personal Learning Plan
All students are immersed in a quality wellbeing and careers program, with a home class tutor. Students get a head start in achieving their SACE, whilst developing their English language proficiency and gaining the understanding of assessment requirements expected in senior secondary schooling in South Australia. Students who undertake a minimum of 20 weeks of this course, and who meet the SACE achievement standards, have the flexibility to be awarded up to 50 SACE credits. Students learn in a caring, multicultural community from Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Cambodia, Taiwan, and Australia, allowing them to form strong friendships.
