Adelaide is home to three major public universities and a government-run TAFE that offers both vocational courses and degrees. Each of these institutions offers a variety of scholarships for international students.
Adelaide University scholarships

Most scholarships are automatically assessed, however some scholarships have additional requirements that must be met in order to be eligible.
A prestigious scholarship rewarding international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees. Recipients are offered a 50% tuition fee reduction, with limited places for those with a high distinction average.
An award supporting international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees. Recipients are offered a 25% tuition fee reduction and the award is automatically assessed and granted to those with a distinction average.
A scholarship supporting international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees. Recipients are offered a 15% tuition fee reduction and the scholarship is automatically assessed and granted to those with a credit average.
A scholarship supporting international students who have previously studied at Adelaide University, the University of South Australia or the University of Adelaide and are commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. Recipients are offered a 10% tuition fee reduction and the scholarship is automatically assessed and granted to eligible students.
An award supporting international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees. Recipients are offered a 10% tuition fee reduction and the award is automatically assessed and granted to students from an approved Adelaide University partner institution.
A range of competitive and assistance scholarships have been designed to help support graduate research students with living expenses, tuition fees, industry experience, and research-related travel.
Flinders University scholarships
Flinders University offers a wide range of scholarships for international students for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
The Flinders University Go Beyond academic scholarships offer up to 50% for the full duration of a degree. You may also be able to receive financial aid if you are from the USA or Canada or get sponsorship through external organisations
The International High School Scholarships Australia are designed to recognise international students with high academic performance who are studying an Australian high school curriculum, either in Australia or in your home country at an approved school. It provides up to 30% for the full duration of an undergraduate degree.
Up to 50% scholarship for the full duration of a degree. The Go Beyond Academic scholarships include Vice-Chanceller International Scholarships (50% reduction in tuition fees), Excellence Scholarships (25% reduction in tuition fees), and Global Scholarships (20% reduction in tuition fees).
Pathways Scholarships offer a 20% full-duration scholarship for international students studying in Australia with a recognised provider or who have completed a recognised pathway course.
TAFE SA scholarships
TAFE SA, South Australia's largest vocational education and training provider, also serves as a registered higher education provider.
Scholarships have fixed eligibility criteria, and fixed application closing dates and may take some time to process.
Funded by the Australian Government, this scholarship supports international students studying and living in regional Australia. International students pursuing a Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management in the renowned Barossa Valley can apply. Successful applicants receive AUD $15,000 annually for the duration of their degree.
Australian Government scholarships
Australia offers a range of prestigious funding opportunities for international postgraduate students, with a focus on global challenges and developing countries. Designed to support students in critical research fields.
The Australia Awards Scholarships, funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), provide opportunities for citizens of over 55 developing countries to pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Australia2
These scholarships aim to build capacity and foster development in participating nations across Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.
Australia Awards opening dates
Applications generally open in February and close at the end of April the year before. The next intake period is for studies commencing in 2025.
