2024 Student Ambassadors Program

Applications are now closed for the 2024 team of StudyAdelaide Ambassadors.  All applicants will be emailed the outcome of their application in mid March.


StudyAdelaide is recruiting a new team of Student Ambassadors for 2024!   Our Student Ambassadors play a crucial role in supporting StudyAdelaide activities, events and programs throughout the year.  If you are friendly, eager and committed to helping others, you might be just the person we are looking for. The ambassador program is a 12-month commitment, and the 2024 team will work with StudyAdelaide from April 2024 until March 2025.

What do our ambassadors do?

  1. Assist with our student events, programs and activities:
    • Assist in the organisation and delivery of student events, programs and activities including set up and pack down.
    • Participate in orientation events to welcome new international students and help them integrate into the local community.
    • Provide information and support to current and prospective students.
  2. Promote Adelaide as a Study Destination:
    • Actively promote Adelaide as a destination for international students.
    • Share personal experiences and insights about living and studying in Adelaide.
  3. Social Media and Online Presence:
    • Use social media platforms to share experiences, insights, and information about studying in Adelaide.
    • Contribute to blogs, vlogs, or other online content to reach a wider audience as required.
  4. Representing StudyAdelaide:
    • Represent StudyAdelaide at various events, both on and off-campus.
    • Engage with the local community and promoting positive relationships between international students and the broader community.
  5. Providing Feedback:
    • Share feedback from international students about their experiences and challenges.
  6. Professional Development:
    • Participating in training sessions and workshops to enhance communication, leadership, and intercultural skills.


What makes a great ambassador?

Someone who is:

  • Energetic, friendly and eager to help deliver fun events and programs for their peers
  • Prepared to take on a challenging experience that will push them to develop personally and professionally
  • Passionate about living and studying in Adelaide
  • Active member of the international student and local community
  • Active social media user
  • Volunteer experience either in Adelaide or prior to arriving in Adelaide
  • Available for 5-10 hours per month
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Committed to the ambassador role from April 2024 to March 2025

  • Contacts: As one of our Ambassadors, you’ll get the opportunity to network with South Australia’s political, business and community leaders.
  • Support: You’ll also get to know the StudyAdelaide team – a passionate group of professionals with experience in marketing, media and social engagement.
  • Invitations: You will be invited to key industry events and social functions organised by StudyAdelaide.
  • Free training: In developing leadership skills.
  • Certificate: Presented by the Governor of South Australia.
  • Uniform: StudyAdelaide will provide you with a branded uniform to be worn at StudyAdelaide events.


Who can apply?

Anyone who is:

  • 18 years of age or over at 1 March 2024
  • A current student at one of StudyAdelaide’s member institutions
  • Enrolled at your institution until at least December 2024

What is StudyAdelaide?

StudyAdelaide is a destination marketing agency promoting Adelaide as a destination for international students. StudyAdelaide is funded by the South Australian Government and its member institutions. StudyAdelaide also provides a warm welcome for students and offers a year-long calendar of free and discounted events and activities. The student engagement program provides students with the opportunity to meet, make new friends and immerse themselves in different aspects of Australian culture.

I’m a first year student, can I apply?

Yes, of course. If you meet the minimum criteria than you are welcome to apply. Best of luck!

How much of a time commitment is the role?

It is roughly 5-10 hours per month to support StudyAdelaide which you will be paid for. The hours are flexible and can fit around your studies.

When will I know the outcome of my application?

StudyAdelaide will contact those shortlisted for interview in mid-March. Once the interviews have been completed and our final selection of Ambassadors has been made, all applicants will be contacted to advise the outcome of their application. This will occur by the end of March.

I’ve applied unsuccessfully to be an ambassador previously, can I apply again?

Yes, of course.

I’m a domestic student, can I apply?

Yes, you can! StudyAdelaide is looking to continue having Australians as part of the StudyAdelaide Ambassador Program.

What level of involvement is required during semester breaks as I might want to travel?

StudyAdelaide may have some events on during semester breaks. We work with you to determine your availability and encourage you to use your breaks to travel.

How do I do the video submission?

We’re looking for a short video (maximum of 60 seconds) where you have addressed the question. It doesn’t need to be a professional video, you can simply record this on your phone. The important part of the video submission is your answer but you can use video editing software or a slideshow of photos to enhance your response. Remember to have some fun with it and be yourself!
