StudyAdelaide is a South Australian government destination marketing and student support agency, working with over 40 education partners.

Famil is short for familiarisation tour and gives participants the opportunity to experience first-hand the education and lifestyle opportunities the destination has to offer students.

Return flights from your home country to Adelaide, accommodation, all meals including a Welcome Reception, all transport requirements and amazing education and tourism experiences.

Travel expenses such as travel insurance, visa fees, passport renewal costs, transport outside the official program, excess luggage costs, and incidental expenses are at your own expense.

Friday 9 October to Thursday 15 October 2026

StudyAdelaide will manage, book, and pay for your flight bookings via our selected travel agent. Flights will be return economy class flights from your home country to Adelaide only.

To ensure all participants arrive in Adelaide to start the program on time, there is no flexibility on your arrival into Adelaide. You cannot visit other cities prior to the famil start.

If you wish to visit other cities post famil, please commence discussions with us as early as possible to avoid costly changes to flight itineraries. Please also note that visiting other cities post famil will mean that you forfeit your StudyAdelaide funded return flight, and the replacement return flight will be at your own expense.

Your visa support letter from StudyAdelaide will only cover the dates of travel that you will be in Adelaide.

Yes, and we will ask for a copy of your policy number prior to travel. It is your responsibility to arrange travel insurance prior to travel.

You will need to apply for your own visa, however, StudyAdelaide will provide a letter in support of your visa application. We also ask that you apply for your visa application as soon as possible.

If visa approval has not been received by Friday, 4 September, StudyAdelaide will need to cancel your participation to avoid costly accommodation and flight penalties.

If you application is with home affairs and waiting for a response, we will discuss this with you individually and assess on a case-by-case situation.

You will be staying at the ibis Adelaide. The hotel is centrally located in Adelaide, within walking distance to all necessary facilities. The accommodation includes breakfast and Wi-Fi. Incidental charges such as room service, pay-per-view movies, restaurant charges or any other incidental charges are not included.
