There are three state universities in Adelaide - Flinders University, The University of Adelaide and University of South Australia.  There is also one private university - Torrens University, and a US university - Carnegie Mellon University. All of the universities offer a range of scholarships for international students. Read below for more information on the scholarships they offer.

The University of Adelaide

Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is Australia’s third oldest university, and the oldest university in South Australia.  The University has an international reputation for academic and research excellence. The University of Adelaide has 13 different scholarship programs open to international students studying in Adelaide.

University of Adelaide Family Scholarships (International)

Did your spouse or sibling study with us? This offer is for family members of our current or graduated students. Simply provide an English-translated birth certificate that shows your relationship and receive a 25% tuition fee reduction. Study fulltime and complete your degree within the minimum timeframe, you’ll receive this reduction each year of your degree.

Rewarding students who have a dedication to Australian education, we’re offering alumni of AQF-recognised Australian Higher education institutions a 25% tuition fee reduction. Study full-time and complete your degree within the minimum timeframe and you’ll receive this reduction every year of your degree.

Receive a 25% tuition fee reduction if you’re completing a second or subsequent degree at Adelaide. As a graduate, you’ll automatically receive this scholarship, and if you study full-time and complete your degree within the minimum timeframe, you’ll receive a 25% tuition fee reduction each year of your degree.

These scholarships are highly competitive awards that reward commencing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework international students who have demonstrated academic excellence in previous studies. The scholarship offers a reduction of 50% of the tuition fee for the minimum standard full-time duration of your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

These scholarships are highly competitive awards that reward commencing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework international students who have demonstrated academic excellence in previous studies. The scholarship offers a reduction of 30% of the tuition fee for the minimum standard full-time duration of your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

These scholarships reward commencing undergraduate and postgraduate international students who have demonstrated an understanding of, and commitment to, global citizenship. The scholarship offers a reduction of 15% of the tuition fee for the minimum standard full-time duration of your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

These scholarships reward commencing international students who are graduates of the University's Partner* programs and sponsored bodies that have formal agreements with the University of Adelaide. The scholarship offers a reduction of 25% of the tuition fee for the minimum standard full-time duration of your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

*Partner programs have signed formal Agreements (articulation/dual degree/sponsorship) with the University of Adelaide (excludes University of Adelaide College and Eynesbury College graduates).

University of South Australia

Vice Chancellor's International Excellence Scholarship

Recipients will receive a 50% reduction in their student contributions (tuition fees) for up to four years of full-time study (undergraduate or postgraduate degree by coursework). If you meet the eligibility criteria you will be invited to apply for the scholarship by completing a scholarship application form.

International Merit Scholarship

Recipients will receive a 25% reduction in their student contributions (tuition fees) for their first year of study into their chosen program, up to a maximum of two semesters or eight courses. Students will be automatically assessed when applying for an eligible program.

CMU-A Academic Merit Scholarships

Up to 40% total tuition scholarship for all programs except Global programs. Global programs are awarded academic merit scholarships by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

CMU-A Scholarships for International Students

The CMU Australia Scholarships for International Students are awarded to eligible students from Asia, South America and Africa and apply for Carnegie Mellon University Australia master programs in August 2019 and 2020.

It is valued at AUD $20,000 for the duration of 21-month masters degrees, and AUD $15,000 for the duration of 12-month masters degrees

Carnegie Mellon University in Australia has partnered with industry and university to provide financial support to their members/students in order to help reduce the cost of attending graduate school.
