There are three state universities in Adelaide - Flinders University, The University of Adelaide and University of South Australia.  There is also one private university - Torrens University. All of the universities offer a range of scholarships for international students. There are also TAFE SA scholarships available including VET scholarships and Higher Education scholarships.  Read below for more information on the scholarships they offer.

There are also Australian Government Scholarships offered to more than 3,000 students each year. The scholarships cover tuition fees, return air-travel and more.


Flinders University Scholarships

Flinders Go Beyond Scholarships recognise international students who have the potential to make a positive contribution at Flinders University and have high academic performance. These scholarships are available to students studying face to face or online. Flinders University is ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide.

Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships

The Flinders University Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships offer a 50% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the program. Undergraduate applicants require an equivalent minimum raw ATAR 95 or above and submission of the application form. Postgraduate applicants require an equivalent GPA of 6.5 or above.

Excellence Scholarships

A 25% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the program.  Undergraduate applicants require an equivalent minimum raw ATAR 80 or above.

Global Scholarships

20% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the program. Undergraduate applicants require an equivalent ATAR 70 or above and exceed the Flinders entry score by a 5 ATAR. Postgraduate applicants require an equivalent of 5.0 GPA or above.

Alumni Scholarships

20% full duration scholarship to study another undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification from Flinders University

The University of Adelaide Scholarships

Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is Australia’s third oldest university, and the oldest university in South Australia. The University has an international reputation for academic and research excellence. The University of Adelaide has 9 different scholarship programs open to international students studying in Adelaide. These scholarships are available for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.


Global Citizens Scholarship

Students can receive a reduction between 15% and 30% of the tuition fee. This scholarship rewards international students commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification who have received academic merit in their studies. This scholarship will be awarded at the time of offer.

The scholarship offers a reduction of 50% of the tuition fee for the minimum standard full-time duration of your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree. These scholarships are highly competitive awards that reward commencing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework international students who have demonstrated academic excellence in previous studies.

The University of Adelaide offers a reduction of 25% of the tuition fee for the Family Scholarship (International) to commencing international undergraduate and postgraduate students who are either spouse or immediate family of an existing University of Adelaide student or alumnus.

The University of Adelaide offers a reduction of 25% of the tuition fee for the Alumni Scholarship (International) which rewards the international graduates of the University's undergraduate and postgraduate programs (international alumni) who have demonstrated their passion for learning and loyalty to the University by commencing in a second, third or fourth degree at the University.

Vice Chancellor's International Excellence Scholarship

Recipients will receive a 50% reduction in their student contributions (tuition fees) for the duration of their degree, or up to a maximum of four years of full-time study (undergraduate or postgraduate degree by coursework).
