Walford Anglican School for Girls

 At Walford, we encourage students to become curious and creative, to want to explore and to think deeply about our world today. From an early age, students take on leadership roles, actively involve themselves in projects and initiatives outside the classroom within the local, national and global community. Students learn that they can make a difference in the lives of others and that they really can achieve whatever they set their minds to. Progressive teaching and guidance are delivered in state-of-the-art facilities to provide students with the very best preparation to follow their future ambitions.

Welcoming international students from around the world with diverse cultural backgrounds, the school community includes students from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Spain and Germany. The international students stay in the Walford Boarding House with other boarding students from regional South Australia and interstate.

The location of the Boarding House within the campus provides an integrated and safe community for the girls to enjoy the full range of school facilities during the week and on weekends. The art centre, music complex, library, fully equipped fitness room and sporting facilities are all accessible.

The school is a vibrant community where learning is prioritised and lifelong friendships formed. The size of the school allows each girl to be known and to feel a strong connection to the community. Each girl is known by name and valued for her unique talents and strengths. The partnership between home and the school is vital and open, and effective communication is a high priority. Students have access to a qualified Counsellor at all times and are engaged in a dynamic and supporting pastoral care program from Reception through to Year 12.

Walford was the first girls’ school in Australia to offer all three programs of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the first girls’ school in South Australia to offer the IB Diploma.

More than 50% of Walford Year 12s consistently achieve a Tertiary Entrance Ranking in the top 10% of the state, and well over 95% of Walford graduates go on to University. We are proud of our student’s consistently strong academic results which reflect the positive learning culture fostered by staff and students working collaboratively.
