Student exchange

When you come to Adelaide as part of an approved student exchange, you’re still enrolled in your course back home, while spending a semester or a year studying in a similar course in Adelaide.

Usually, your studies in Australia will count towards your qualification back home, but you should check this with your university. While you won’t pay tuition to your Adelaide university, you’ll still need to pay for your living costs, travel, visa, health cover and study materials.

If your home university doesn’t have a formal student exchange program in place, you can still apply for short-term study in Adelaide through a study abroad program.

If you’re a high-school graduate or enrolled in a university or college at home and you have good academic results, you might be eligible. You’ll need to ask your home university if you can get course credit for any study abroad programs you’re planning on taking.

With study abroad, you usually need to take time off from your course back home, and you’ll need to pay for your Australian tuition fees upfront. You’ll also need to pay for your living costs, travel, visa, health cover and study materials.

Study tours

Some universities offer study tours where you get to visit Adelaide to get a glimpse into life as a student here.

You might get to visit a campus, explore the city, see accommodation options or visit local beaches and attractions during your tour.

School age study tours

SA Government Schools has decades of experience running tailored study tour programs for school-aged children to visit Adelaide. The study tours generally run for 10-14 days and enable school-aged children to experience Australian lifestyle, gain an understanding of Australian school culture, learn English, and learn about the world.
