In Adelaide and across Australia, there are a range of free mental health services designed to support international students and the wider community. Whether you just need someone to talk to or get advice, there are services and people who can provide help. 

Where to Find Support in Adelaide 

You may be wondering what support services are offered in Adelaide. Here’s a guide with five support services that you can reach out to when you or someone you know may need it most.

1. PEACE Multicultural Services

ASKPEACE supports international students and anyone from a multicultural background living in South Australia. All their staff have personal experience moving to Australia. They offer: 

  • Free counselling and workshops

2. Headspace Adelaide 

Headspace is a youth mental health foundation offering free support for people aged 12–25. Their services include: 

  • One-on-one counselling 

  • Group programs 

  • Online, phone and in-person support 

You can visit one of their centres across Adelaide and South Australia or access support online. 

3. Beyond Blue 

Beyond Blue provides free 24/7 support for anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns. You can:

4. Lifeline 

Lifeline offers free and confidential 24/7 support if you’re in crisis or need someone to talk to. You can:

5. Counselling Services at your education institution 

Some education institutions in Adelaide offer free, confidential counselling for enrolled students. You can talk to a trained professional about anything, from study stress to personal challenges.
