Where are you from, and what have you studied and at which institution?
I'm from Malaysia, and I have graduated with a Certificate IV in Information Technology (Programming) at TAFE SA.
The helpful learning resources at TAFE SA have given me real-world experience and helped me understand concepts better through active work with peers and lecturers.
TAFE SA has helped me build a strong foundation for my transition to university by giving me practical skills and confidence. The hands-on experience I gained in my studies made complex ideas easier to understand and gave me real-world knowledge that I can now use in my university studies.
The clear learning structure also helped me develop good study habits and time management skills, which support me in handling detailed coursework at university.
There is also a demand for IT professionals in Adelaide that has been growing steadily, and if you’re proactive about learning new skills and showing your value to employers, you can build a successful career here.
What motivated you to choose Adelaide over other Australian cities for your studies?
The idea to study abroad was suggested by a family member, which led me to start researching different places in Australia. Adelaide quickly caught my interest, it stood out for its smart city design and easy-to-navigate layout.
I also found that Adelaide is often ranked as one of the world’s most liveable cities because of its great quality of life, affordable cost of living, and welcoming community. All these things made it the perfect choice for me to study.
Adelaide has stunning natural surroundings, especially beaches a great work-life balance that lets you focus on your studies while still having time for part-time work, socialising and exploring the city and high-quality education that will benefit you for the rest of your life.
What are some of your favourite things to do in Adelaide?
After work, I enjoy spending time with friends, chatting about life and sharing stories. It’s a great way to relax and connect.
On weekends, I like exploring Adelaide’s annual events, such as the Adelaide Fringe and Illuminate Adelaide, which bring the city to life with art, music and lights.
