About the competition

The Closer to Adelaide competition is now closed. 

StudyAdelaide’s Closer to Adelaide competition is designed to bring your team members, and your office closer to Adelaide. Throughout the competition you will learn how Adelaide brings international students closer to success in their studies, careers and lives.

Judging criteria

The judging criteria will be determined based on the below weightage:


  1. Creativity & Originality (30% Weightage) 
    Use of innovative ideas and concepts in video creation.

  1. Utilisation of Merchandise (20% Weightage) 
    How well have the entrant used all the merchandise provided

  1. Features of Adelaide (15% Weightage) 
    How well does the entry highlight key features of Adelaide learned during the famil

  1. Effort & Execution (15% Weightage) 
    Evidence of craftsmanship and teamwork in creating the decorations.

  1. Overall Impression (20% Weightage)
    How engaging is the video.

Prize details

Major prize

Two places for either the Global Famil in October 2025 or March 2026, valued at AUD$14,000

(StudyAdelaide will host the famil and includes return economy airfares, accommodation, airport transfers, some meals and transport within Adelaide.)

Terms and conditions apply.  

 PLUS: The winning office will receive a reward for the entire team, to the value of AUD$1,000, to be used for a fun team-building activity.  


Minor prize (x 2) 

Two offices will receive a reward for their entire team to the value of AUD$750, to be used as a fun team-building activity.  


Most creative prize (x 2) 

Two offices will receive Gift Hampers (Valued at AUD$300)

FAQs

The competition name is called, Closer to Adelaide competition. It is an interactive office decorating competition. 

The competition runs from 1 April – 30 April 2025.

The competition is by invitation only and designed to bring you and your office/offices closer to Adelaide.Throughout the competition you will learn how Adelaide brings international students closer to success during their studies and in their careers. 

To win, you and your colleagues will need to show your creativity by decorating your office, using the fantastic Decorating Kit we have sent you. We will judge the entries from a video you submit of the office decoration and a post on your social media, tagging @studyadelaide and #closertoadelaide  

The Decorating Kit will include office decorating merchandise such as balloons, bunting, posters, koalas and much more. We encourage you to show us your creativity, by using other items that remind you of Adelaide and that help share with prospective students the benefits of choosing to study in Adelaide. 

StudyAdelaide would like to see your office Adelaide themed all year round, but for the purpose of the competition there is no set amount of time that your decorations need to be up. 

Your management team will nominate which two staff are to be awarded the major prize. 

For the team-based prizes, StudyAdelaide will consult with the winning offices’ management team to facilitate the fun team building activity. 

Please contact your StudyAdelaide region coordinator to discuss this with them. 

The winning offices will be selected by StudyAdelaide representatives by 15 June 2025 at 5pm (ACST).
